Track and field timing app for meets: gun, finish camera, results
StatLap is the timing crew you do not have. A phone at the start hears the gun. A phone at the finish times every lane from its camera. A phone at the pit keeps the flights and the 5-alive rotation. Results post to your website as heats finish.

Every job on the day
Start line, finish line, field events, heats and lineups, a meet control page that arms every camera and resets every phone, and a results page that combines every heat into placings. Each is one page on one phone, and each says what to tap next.
- Heat sheets imported from Hy-Tek text or a CSV
- Jumps and throws by round, high jump and vault by bar height, with the tie-break rules
- Results exported for MileSplit and for Hy-Tek Meet Manager
- Public results pages, personal bests and rankings on statlap.com, free forever
What a paid plan adds
Timing itself is free with no account. A plan is for the club that wants its results published to its own pages, its athletes claiming their profiles, and the clip library. Coach plans start at twelve dollars a month; a club plan is seventy-one.
What you will compare it with
Said plainly, because you will find out anyway.
- Hy-Tek Meet Manager plus a FAT system
- The standard for sanctioned meets. Correct, and priced and staffed for a school district, not a Tuesday dual meet.
- Squad Timing
- A hand-timing app with a team roster. Fast to learn, thumb-timed.
- athletic.net and MileSplit
- Where results live after the meet. StatLap exports to both and keeps its own public pages as well.
Questions
How many phones do I need?
Two for a track meet, one more per field event. One phone can also run a whole practice.
Does it replace a certified FAT system?
No. It gives a dual meet, a practice or a time trial timing it never had, and the finish photo to settle a place. Records still need certified equipment.
Where do the results go?
To the phone, to your website on StatLap, and out as MileSplit and Hy-Tek files from the meet page.
