Running form analysis app: skeleton, form check, speed and cadence from a phone clip

Film side-on, load the clip, tap Skeleton. The Film Room tracks the body on the phone, measures what a coach measures by eye, and gives one count of what is in range and one thing to fix first. Nothing uploads.

What it measures

Trunk lean against the usual range for upright running, elbow angle against the ninety-degree norm, how far the foot lands ahead of the hips, knee fold and extension, ground contact and flight time, cadence, and top speed once two marks a known distance apart are set. On a treadmill it takes the belt's incline off the lean.

  • A form check report: the count in range, the fix first, then each measure as a row
  • Drills matched to the fault it found, never a dose
  • Progress across checks, the last five side by side
  • Slow-mo, frame step, lines, angles, side-by-side compare and a ghost overlay

What it is honest about

A single 2D camera cannot see rotation, so a three-quarter view exaggerates every angle; the report says so, and it says when the camera was head-on. The tracker is the one on the phone, not a lab, so a number is a trend to watch across weeks rather than a verdict from one clip.

What you will compare it with

Said plainly, because you will find out anyway.

Ochy
A running gait app with a polished score and a strong week-over-week view, built for runners rather than track coaches.
OnForm
Video analysis for coaches: drawing, slow-mo, voice-over and sharing, on a subscription. No automatic measurements.
SprintLab
A desktop research tool with a heavier pose model and calibrated distances. Excellent, and not a phone.
