How do you decide which athletes to film every practice and which once a week?

A roster of thirty does not get thirty clips a day, so the camera has to go where it will actually change what you coach next.

Filming every athlete on every rep sounds like the responsible choice until you try to run a practice that way. Setting a phone up, framing the right angle, and reviewing the clip before the next rep starts takes real minutes, and minutes are the one thing a two-hour practice with twenty athletes does not have to spare.

Put the camera where it changes a decision

What a once-a-week clip is still for

Everyone else still gets filmed, just less often, and that slower cadence has its own job: it catches slow drift. A fault that creeps in gradually over six weeks is nearly invisible rep to rep and obvious the moment you put this week's clip next to one from last month.

A clip only tells you about the rep you happened to film. An athlete who looks clean on the one day the camera was out can still have a fault that only shows up late in a race, under fatigue, or with a crowd watching, and no filming schedule closes that gap completely. The rest of the week, the only sensor on the field is still the coach watching live.

Time your next meet with the phones you already have

Timing, the Film Room and the speed gates are free forever, with no account. A Club plan, $71 a month, puts your meets on your own results page, and one plan covers every phone.
